My friend, Will McRaney, is an evangelism strategist who manages to stand on the fencepost between modern approaches and post-modern approaches without getting chafed! He actually, objectively assesses the pros and cons of each.
Basically, he helps churches to have an honest view of the people without Christ around them, a humble view of the gifts of Christ at work within them, and apply the latter to the former for maximum Good News impact. I am constantly recommending his book, The Art of Personal Evangelism, to people I coach and with whom I consult. I have learned and continue to learn oodles of things from him.
He recently read To Love and To Cherish From This Day Forward, and had this to say:
“Casual, fresh, and insightful, a great combination for a book on such vital subject areas as church health and making more disciples. Randy has a unique way of communicating significant insights intertwined with everyday stories. There are truths about our life in Christ and His church that you don’t want to miss. If you are wondering what it means to be a church in the midst of all the spiritual confusion, read this book. It might just give you some new perspectives and pieces of the mosaic puzzle you have been missing.”
Have you ordered a copy of the book yet? You can do it from this site, from my publisher’s site (http://www.missional-press.com) or from online distributors such as Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. There could be more news on the bookstore front a little later this Winter!
